The Atlanta Police Department (APD) said on Wednesday evening that they are seeing a “higher than usual” number of police officers not coming in for their shifts, in other words, a ‘Blue Flu Pandemic’ had struck Atlanta PD.
Of course, this shouldn’t be unexpected as APD’s ‘Blue Flu Pandemic’ comes just hours after Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard insanely announced that the police officer who regrettably, but rightfully shot Rayshard Brooks last week was charged with felony murder.
The statement from APD came after numerous reports began to swirl online suggesting that police officers were walking off the job in response to Howard’s announcement.
Just got this email from an Atlanta police officer:
"Atlanta police officers are refusing to answer the radio and walking off of the job. The county can go screw themselves. If you want a society without police we’ll give you one. Let it burn!"

My contacts in the Atlanta Police Department inform me that members from evening shift Zone 4 walked off the job shortly followed by Officers in Zone 3 and 6. The good members of the @Atlanta_Police will not stand for @FultonCountyDA’s activism in place of applying the law. https://t.co/PDWZNgFeXb

Breaking: Sources confirm Atlanta Police officers in zone 6 have walked out. Sources say they drove back to their precinct, turned in their keys and went home. Officers in zone 3 are allegedly doing the same. @CBS46 #ContinuingCoverage #Atlanta #BlueFlu pic.twitter.com/kgLuNwDalP

And they won't be the last. 99% of LEOs are good ppl who uphold their oath & do a thankless job. Why would they continue to do it if they're receiving even more hate? While being shamed & smeared for the actions of a few bad apples? I mean would you do that job? #RayshardBrooks

What Blue Flu Pandemic?
According to our source, Atlanta Democrat Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms pressured the Atlanta Police Departments official Twitter account to post this absurdity in which they deny, then confirm the walk-out had indeed happened:
“Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate. The department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call-outs with the incoming shift.
We have enough resources to maintain operations & remain able to respond to incidents.”
