New York Governor Andrew Cuomo now admits that up to 13,000 elderly New Yorkers had died from his horrendous COVID Nursing Home order, not the 6,000 figure Cuomo has been spewing for months on end.
Why did it take the Cuomo administration so long to admit the truth? As TuskerDaily reported yesterday, a damning report from Attorney General Letitia James’ office concluded that the Cuomo administration had undercounted the COVID nursing home death toll by as much as 50 percent.
Cuomo’s COVID Cover-up Is Only News To Democrats and Their Mainstream Media Minions
For months, led by FOX News Janice Dean, who lost both her parents-in-law due in part to Cuomo’s COVID policies.
Have accused Cuomo of orchestrating an ‘outrageous’ cover-up over how many elderly New Yorkers paid the price for his disastrous order that sent hospitalized elderly Coronavirus infected patients back to ill-prepared nursing homes.
Despite at the time, almost 22,000 New Yorkers had tragically succumbed to the pandemic.
Janice Dean, like the rest of America, watched horrified as Andrew Cuomo yukked it up on CNN with his baby brother Chris Cuomo.
Excuse me, I should have written half of America, because despite Cuomo’s egregious behavior.
Democrats and their media cohorts, fearing Joe Biden would gaffe his way into losing the 2020 Presidential election to Trump.
Started pushing hard for Cuomo to replace Dementia Joe on the Democratic ticket.
Worse, their reasoning was based on, unlike President Trump, how seriously Cuomo was governing the pandemic.
In fact, Cuomo’s self-congratulatory back-patting became so egregious, in July, Cuomo had the audacity to start hawking his ghoulish coronavirus death-toll poster for $14.50 — plus shipping and handling.
New Yorkers Had Enough Of The Media Burying Their Heads In The Sand
As elderly New Yorkers spent their last few moments of life alone and afraid, denied by Cuomo’s order to gaze upon cherished friends and family one last time before they slipped into that final goodnight.
Janice Dean, like millions of other Americans, felt repulsed watching day after day Cuomo denying any responsibility, and worse, grandstanding over what a fine job he had done.
In what could only be described as a sickening twisting of the knife, Cuomo won an Emmy for his daily COVID press briefings as well as repugnantly writing a book about his handling of the crisis.
By August, Janice Dean, like many Americans had suffered through enough of Cuomo’s clownish behavior.
Penning a powerful USA Today op-ed, Dean lambasted Cuomo’s short-sighted decisions, his boisterous behavior, as well as his refusal to accept any responsibility for his policies tragic results.
Here’s a sampling from Janice Dean’s heartwrenching USA-Today op-ed:
Last week, the governor held a press conference to reveal his poster. It’s a picture of a mountain that represents the deadly “curve” found on a graph depicting more than 32,000 deaths in New York state. There are plenty of inside jokes on his mountain of death including a cartoon drawing of presumably his daughter’s boyfriend hanging off a cliff, the governor’s fancy sports car that he likes to pose with on Instagram and a giant nose with a cotton swab inside of it. That is, apparently, a nod to an insensitive, giggling interview involving a giant cotton swab he did with his brother on CNN around the height of the pandemic in May.
Many of us aren’t laughing. My husband’s parents died of coronavirus in their elder care facilities. We lost his dad in late March and his mom two weeks later. My family wasn’t able to see them before they died, they weren’t given last rites, wakes, or funerals. They died alone.
Mickey and Dee Newman spent their entire lives in Brooklyn. They were true New Yorkers. Mickey was a retired New York City Fire Department firefighter who served in the U.S. Air Force. Dee helped raised three kids and was a devoted grandmother. They lived in a four-story walk-up in Brooklyn for 50 years, until their health deteriorated and they required constant care. They died only a few months after being placed in their elderly care homes. Not a day goes by where we don’t think of them.
Janice Dean’s op-ed was based on, at the time, at least 6,500 elderly New Yorkers who died alone and afraid as they succumbed to COVID.
But after the Cuomo administration came clean, we now know that the 6,500 number Cuomo was touting was a lie, and the number who died terrifyingly alone in nursing homes due to Cuomo’s order stands at nearly 13,000.
Democrats, Media Ignored Cuomo admitting to the cover-up LAST AUGUST!
As TuskerDaily reported in August, during an interview on Albany public radio station WAMC, Cuomo dismissed any concerns that New York was undercounting the COVID nursing homes death toll.
Cuomo coldheartedly stated that it only made sense his administration’s COVID Nursing Home death toll only include those residents who died on the home’s property.
“If you die in a nursing home, it’s a nursing home death…
If you die in the hospital, it’s called a hospital death”
Cuomo excused away his ghoulish liberal logic by claiming that if New York were to count a death as a nursing home death and a hospital death, it could lead to a “double count.”
If that wasn’t enough, in typical narcissist Cuomo style, he then proceeded to lay blame on everyone else for any deaths caused by his failed policies, telling WAMC:
“And if I’m a nursing home operator, I say: ‘Don’t say that person died in my nursing home, because they didn’t,’”
“They died in the hospital. And if the hospital did a better job, they wouldn’t have died. So why do I get the blame for the death when it didn’t happen in my nursing home?’ So it depends on how you want to argue it.”
The true Toll Of Cuomo’s COVID NURSING HOME Order stands at 12,743.
The NY State Department says there have been 34,742 deaths in total, which ironically enough, seems to be undercounted.
Both Johns Hopkins and The New York Times put the number at more than 42,000, which begs the question who are you to believe? Johns Hopkins or Andrew Cuomo?
Of course, shockingly, not shockingly, the Cuomo administration couldn’t explain the discrepancy.
Cuomo has not given any public comment on it and he did not hold a press briefing on Thursday.
Angry Republicans are now accusing the governor of a ‘cover-up’ that stems back to a March 25 directive which he oversaw that mandated nursing homes had to accept COVID-19 patients to free up hospital beds.
Republican whip Steve Scalise, who is also a ranking member of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, said the findings constitute an ‘outrageous’ cover-up.
He is now demanding that Cuomo, who he says is ‘obfuscating facts’, turn over all of the state’s data on nursing home deaths before February 4.
Of course, the most outrageous part of Cuomo’s is the fact that Cuomo, the Democrats, and their media minions have for months accused President Trump of hiding COVID facts, as well of accusing OUR PRESIDENT of murdering over 400,000 Americans.
