The horrific state of our news media in 2020, has extended to 2021 after Justin Baragona editor of the Daily Beast was forced to apologize for accusing Fox News host Tucker Carlson of adding “googly eyes” to a photo of simpleminded socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. after the image showing AOC’s ‘deer in the headlights’ stare turned out to be a real photo.

Carlson ripped into Ocasio-Cortez in a segment of his show on Wednesday night, slating the New York progressive for claiming earlier that day that her ‘Green New Deal’ environmental legislation would have stopped the blackouts currently affecting the state of Texas.

Accompanying the segment was an unflattering screengrab of AOC (as if there are any others) staring wide-eyed into the distance.

Of course, Baragona, with no evidence, assumed that since this was Fox News/Tucker Carlson the image MUST HAVE BEEN DOCTORED to make AOC look ridiculous as if anyone really needed to help her look like a fool.

Armed with nothing but his ‘Feelings’ Baragona immediately took to Twitter to accuse Carlson’s producers of adding “googly eyes” to the picture of the congresswoman.

Afterfacts’ replaced ‘feelings’ Baragona discovered that the image of AOC giving googly-eyes wasn’t doctored.

Baragona, to his credit, issued an apology later that night, acknowledging that the picture has been in circulation since May 2018, and admitting that he “absolutely deserved to be” caught out. “If you don’t want to be IT, make sure you don’t send out factually inaccurate tweets that can be easily verified and debunked,” he added.

In case Baragona wanted to see what an altered picture of AOC looked like here are a few examples that TuskerDaily has created in the past.
