Disney CEO Bob Chapek speaking at a shareholder’s meeting said Lucasfilm‘s recent firing of popular actress Gina Carano is in line with his company’s mission to employ those with “values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity, and values of inclusion.”
The comment came Tuesday when the businessman was specifically asked by a shareholder if there is a “blacklist” targeting talent that doesn’t toe a left-wing ideological line.
Chapek responded to the shareholder by denying any existence of a blacklist:
“[Disney stands] for values that are universal: values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity, and values of inclusion,”
Carano was fired from Lucasfilm in February after warning followers on social media to avoid demonizing each other over political differences.
The former “Mandalorian” star compared modern political rhetoric to that of Nazi Germany prior to World War II.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors … even by children,” she wrote. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”
Chapek called Gina Carano’s tweet “abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Disney CEO Bob Chapek Is Living In La La Land
When the shareholder followed up by asking about Disney’s liberal bias, Chapek ridiculously tried to claim:
“[Disney is not] left-leaning or right-leaning. … We seek to have the content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world we live in.
I think that’s a world we should all live in harmony and peace.”
While TuskerDaily believes Gina Carano’s tweet was a poor Holocaust analogy.
For LucasFilm, Disney, Bob Chapek, and Kathleen Kennedy to claim that Carano’s post is “denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities.” That’s a lie.
The truth is, Disney has a long history of employing individuals who have said and tweeted far more offensive statements than what Gina Carano tweeted.
Disney fired Gina Carano, yet rehired James Gunn?
In July 2018, Disney fired Gunn after his public criticisms of Donald Trump, pro-Trump commentator Mike Cernovich drew attention to tweets that Gunn wrote between 2008 and 2012, joking about topics like rape, 9/11, child abuse, and pedophilia.
But somehow Chapek was able to forgive Gunn’s repugnant tweets?
As the DailyWire’s Ben Shapiro clearly proves Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek is nothing more than woke leftist hypocrite
Just a reminder: Disney canned Carano for an overwrought Holocaust comparison. They brought back James Gunn despite these tweets. I defended both from cancellation. Would be nice to see Gunn and co. defend Carano. pic.twitter.com/ZiUyLPjmMG

Disney Gave Pedro Pascal a Pass
Just to prove Disney’s double standard, when Mandolorian star Pedro Pascal tweeted his poor Holocaust analogy.
Bob Chapek conveniently ignored Pedro Pascal’s lack of “values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity, and values of inclusion.”
Same Movie as @ginacarano, same analogy, though the pic has the wrong date… I'm told it was 2010 under Obama/Biden.
So does @Disney discriminate against women for doing what their male actors do or is is only discrimination against conservatives? https://t.co/D2q9Vo9GQX

It’s funny/not funny how that paedo can spout nonsense with a straight faace.
Someone might want to inform Pascal the the children in the 1944 photo were subsequently led to a gas chamber or worked to death. The ones in the bottom were hopefully reunited with loved ones or at least with a relative.
