Florida Democrats, being led by Florida’s agriculture commissioner Nikki Fried is refusing to follow Governor Ron DeSantis’s lawful order to lower flags to half staff in honor of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.
Nikki Fried, the only statewide Democratic officeholder said that she would not abide by the Republican governor’s orders.
Fried’s supposed outrage is not at all surprising since she is considering a bid for governor and is seen as DeSantis’ main challenger in his reelection bid, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Fried issued a statement saying she would notify all state officers she oversees to disregard the governor’s order.
‘Lowering to half-staff the flag of the United States of America is a sacred honor that pays respect to fallen heroes and patriots,’
‘My concern is that the governor is bending over backward to honor a radio host who has consistently made racist, polarizing, and conspiracy comments,’ Fried said in an interview Monday afternoon.
I will not lower the flags at my Department’s state offices for Rush Limbaugh. Lowering our flag should reflect unity, not division — and raising our standards, not lowering them. https://t.co/HqtzeoUHkr

Of course, Democrats’ refusal to obey DeSantis’ lawful order isn’t shocking since they’ve long been on the receiving end of Limbaugh’s criticisms.
Florida Democrats Screech “Rush Limbaugh Was A Racist”
Like Nikki Fried, Florida Democrats are running amok on social media crying that Rush doesn’t deserve the flags flown at half-mast because it’s disrespecting the American flag.
Are the same Florida Democrats who cheered every time BLM/ANTIFA burned one during BLM’s summer’s long rioting, looting, and violence?
As TuskerDaily reported after Rush Limbaugh’s death was announced by his wife Kathryn.
Florida Democrats today, are just regurgitating what the delusional Democrat mob did last week when they ran to Twitter accusing the longtime radio host of spewing racist and bigoted comments.
Of course, 99.9% of these Florida Democrats have never listened to a single minute of Rush’s show.
Even more hysterical, respond to their tweet asking them to repeat a single thing that Rush Limbaugh said that was racist and you’ll hear nothing but crickets.
Ask a Republican what Hillary Clinton said that was racists, and they would immediately reply “Bring Them To Heel,” and she labeled blacks as “Super Predators”.
Of course, Hillary supporters will defend her by stating “Hillary actually never said the word “Black.” Umm, OK?
Ask a Republican what Joe Biden said that was racists, and he’ll respond “Pull up a chair” or “Well, you better order another round, this is gonna take a while…On second thought, you better order two rounds”
Here are just a few of Joe Biden racists comments:
- “Well, I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black”
- “You got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” (That’s in reference to President Obama.)
- “Unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things.”
- “In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
But here’s one of my favorites from Biden’s 2020 campaign that the media conveniently overlooked:
This can’t be real life…

Other Florida Democrats Who Refused to Obey Gov. DeSantis’ Lawful Order
On Sunday, Oakland Park Mayor Jane Bolin ripped the Governor’s order in a statement, saying:
‘By compelling Florida cities to honor the man who made a career of sowing political division through bigoted and racist statements, Gov. DeSantis is turning our flag into a decoration for his own political theater,’
‘I call on all mayors, commissioners, and city managers in Florida and nationwide to step forward and make their voices heard. Failure to take a stand on this issue is tantamount to being complicit in politicizing — and even demeaning the dignity of our flag.’
Bringing the flag to half-mast is supposed to be a moment of unified memorial, not a nod to divisive demagogues. The decision to honor one vile man instead of memorializing the over 30,000 Floridians we've lost to COVID is emblematic of @GovRonDeSantis' priorities as governor.

State Sen. Annette Taddeo also slammed the decision as they questioned whether the governor was breaking protocol with the order.
‘Either you didn’t bother to know the rules or you just don’t care!’
Of course, Taddeo used her liberal logic ‘feelings’ instead of ‘facts’.
The governor of Florida has the authority to lower the flags which are typically lowered to honor tragedies, the death of prominent government officials. As well as law enforcement officers or members of the military killed in the line of duty, or a person who had significant ties to the state.
An example, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie ordered New Jersey’s state flags lowered to half-mast after Whitney Houston who was born in the state, died of a drug overdose.
DeSantis said Limbaugh’s stature justified the honor.
‘When there are things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we’re going to be lowering the flags to half-staff,’
‘Not much needs to be said, he was an absolute legend. He was a friend of mine, and just a great person.’

Hallandale Beach City Commissioner Sabrina Javellana also joined with other delusional Democrats on Monday in announcing that she would also instruct the city to ignore the governor’s order.
I’m with my colleagues Oakland Park Mayor Jane Bolin, Mayor @Kriseman + Commissioner @nikkifried. We should not lower flags to honor a deeply bigoted + hateful person. I’ve asked our city manager to disregard the Governor’s request. https://t.co/Kzag33fHLx
