Chinese state media are propagandizing a new COVID-19 study by the National Cancer Institute as proof that the Chinese Wuhan Virus likely started in Italy, and not China.
China latched onto a new study about the early, hidden spread of coronavirus in Italy to cast doubt on the firmly held assumption that Wuhan was the birthplace of the pandemic.
Officials in Beijing claim that the new study suggests the contagion may have been spreading in the European nation as early as September — three months before it was confirmed to be spreading in the long-assumed epicenter in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the Times of London noted.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said, according to the UK Times:
“This once again shows that tracing the virus’s source is a complex scientific question that should be left to scientists.
[It] is a developing process that can involve multiple countries.”
Not The First Time China Blamed Someone Else For Creating The Wuhan Virus
The communist nation whose become infamous for its notorious lies has previously accused Spain of being the origin of the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic.
Chinese officials also claimed that members of the US military, were responsible for bringing the virus to Wuhan in October last year during the Military World Games.
The World Health Organization (WHO), which has been accused of being China’s puppet, has backed Chinese propaganda previously by claiming that “it is possible” that the COVID-19 virus “silently circulated elsewhere” before it was detected in Wuhan.
However, many scientists are skeptical of the Italian study’s findings — and others note it does not rule out the coronavirus originating in China.
Giovanni Apolone of Milan’s National Cancer Institute told the UK Times:
“We know that China delayed announcing its outbreak so there is no telling when it started there, and China has very strong commercial links with northern Italy,”
