On the heels of Joe Biden signing a record number of executive orders and passing their massively expensive $1.9 trillion blue-state bailouts disguised as COVID relief, Democrats are now focusing on one of their oldies but goodies: Gun control.
Knowing that they’re going to lose control of Congress after the 2022 mid-term election, the dynamic duo of dimwitted Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are going full steam ahead with trying to pass as much of their left-wing agenda as possible.
Of course, this includes passing their insane gun control now laws, while simultaneously eliminating our Second Amendment rights.
House set to vote on two gun reform bills
One gun control bill calls for universal background checks, the other aimed at closing loopholes in the background check system.
The Biden administration said it “looks forward” to strengthening the federal gun background check system, with gun control a priority for President Biden.
One gun-control measure being considered would extend the current three-day extended background review period to 10 days, just like California.
Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) explained:
“No matter where you are or who you are, we are going to check you out, make sure you’re not on a terrorist watchlist, or that you’re not a violent felon before you exercise those Second Amendment rights.
I’m talking about things like a cap on the number of rounds that will be in a magazine.”
Nevertheless, Rep. Himes Screeched:
“Twenty kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders were killed in Sandy Hook, we did nothing. When dozens of people lost their lives in a massacre in Orlando, we did nothing.
I could go on for the next ten minutes about massacre after massacre after massacre in which we did nothing at the federal level, so that all the sudden, gosh, we’re gonna do everything, it’s just an insane idea,”
Of course, gun control Himes failed to mention that when Barack Obama was sworn in as President in 2009, the Democrats had full control of Congress for almost two years and they did nothing on Gun control.
- Fact: Background checks go through the FBI and red flags like being on a terrorist watch list or a violent convicted felon already show up.
- Fact: No serious study shows a correlation between the number of bullets in a magazine and murder rates.
Delusional Democrats Believe Gun Control Stops Violence and Homicides.
As TuskerDaily reported weeks ago Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee’s H.R.127 bill aims to create a publicly accessible gun registry.
As Breitbart’s Awr Hawkins reported Tuesday, California and Los Angeles have some of the strictest gun laws in the country, and yet South L.A. has experienced “a 742 percent surge in shooting victims during the first 16 days of 2021.”
The Democrats also seem to never mention the fact that while Chicago has some of the most stringent gun control laws in America.
But somehow, despite Chicago Democrats locking down their city almost the entirety of 2020, Chicago still was able to double the number of shootings, and homicides from 2019?
Nevertheless, relying on ‘feelings rather than facts‘ the Democrats on the federal level are pushing for more gun control.
While red states and cities are pushing less gun control and more Second Amendment.
In Kansas, Republican lawmakers in the state House have approved a bill to lower the legal age to carry concealed firearms from 21 to 18, The Associated Press reported, adding the measure now heads to the Senate.
“The bill’s support came mostly from Republicans, who say that those under 21 are eligible to vote and serve in the military,” the AP noted further, adding, “The legislation would significantly increase the number of university and college students in Kansas eligible to carry concealed firearms on campus.”
And in neighboring Missouri, the House passed a bill extending the right to carry concealed to public bus passengers.
“This legislation assures the right to self-defense for those that have undergone the CCW firearms training, weapons training,” said Rep. Adam Schnelting who sponsored the legislation.
This is what red states are going to have to do, at least for the next two years: Push back against the Democrats’ radical left-wing agenda at every opportunity.
