Due to New York Democrats, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Governor Andrew Cuomo bending the knee to BLM, Antifa terrorist, New York City has seen more than 500 shootings year to date and the NYPD is under assault.
Crime, Gun Violence, and assaults on NYPD officers have skyrocketed this month after New York City’s Democrat leaders closed down the NYPD’s anti-crime unit and declared that they will be cutting the NYPD budget by at least one-billion dollars.
In NYC there have been 531 shootings in 2020, compared to 373 in 2019, which equates to a 42.4% increase year-over-year.
Even worse, from 6/15 to 6/21, there were 72 shootings, compared to only 14 in 2019, which equates to a whopping increase of 414.3% year-over-year.
While de Blasio will claim ‘Overal crime is down in NYC,’ that statement is simply ignorant of the facts.
As the whole nation witnessed, New York City experienced almost a week worth of violence, arson, and nearly every store in Manhatten being looted.
But according to NYC’s crime data, ‘robbery’ is supposedly down almost 52% from 2019.
The Democrats Abandoning The NYPD Makes Them Open Targets For BLM, Antifa Thugs.
On Saturday, NYPD officers responding to shots fired in Harlem at around 4 a.m. but was forced to quickly retreat after they were met by an angry crowd of Blacks, throwing bottles.
NYPD Chief of Department Terry Monahan said violent crimes and shootings are up, and with de Blasio, Cuomo, and New York State Democrats emboldening the leftist mob, the violence will only get worse.
Chief Monahan said there are a number of reasons for the increase in violence against NYPD officers, and law-abiding NY residents including bail reform, the George Floyd protests that turned into days-long rioting, looting, and arson.
The animosity and violence directed toward the NYPD have only increased due to de Blasio holding Police officers more accountable for their actions than the actual criminals committing crimes.
“Shootings have been up in the month of June. With 17 incidents in the last 24 hours including this one in East Williamsburg, where a man and woman shot at a block party.
If you listen to the city council, they want less policing. They want to defund the police, but as I look out there right now with the violence going on, it’s not a good sign.
We need some clarity from the city council and from the communities, we serve, exactly how they want to be policed,”
