As NYC Violence escalates under Democrat leadership, the latest example came early Tuesday morning in the Bronx when a masked gunman opened fire at an off-duty NYPD officer who walked past him and his gang.

The male officer, who was not in uniform, parked his car and started walking when he was confronted by five or six men on Jennings Street near Longfellow Avenue in Crotona Park East around 1 a.m.

Words were exchanged between the off-duty NYPD officer when the men started throwing up gang signs.

Then, one of the men — who cops say was on a bike and wearing a mask — popped off two or three rounds at the off-duty officer, prompting him to return fire.

No one was hurt, but the officer was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center to be checked out, authorities said.

The group took off and at this moment no arrests have been made.
