Yesterday President Trump joined Fox and Friends with some behind the scenes insight into the battle that was passing the $2.2 trillion rescue bill. “We did walk away a couple of times, actually, but we thought we were literally going to have to walk away and start all over again they had so much junk in there – and it was junk. Much of it was junk.”

Specifically, Trump pointed the finger on Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying the senate, Democrats, and Republicans had a “beautiful” bill before Nancy and her House Democrats got their hands on it. Pelosi the great manipulator took advantage of the rescue bill, which was solely intended to help Americans survive the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Amongst Pelosi’s sneaky demands for the bill involved sanctuary cities. “They want open borders. They want sanctuary cities. They wanted to fund sanctuary cities in this bill. They wanted me to guarantee that we were going to fund sanctuary cities in this bill, we got it out” said Trump.

We thought we were literally going to have to walk away and start all over again they had so much junk in there – and it was junk. Much of it was junk…

President Trump signed the rescue bill on Friday, which includes $500 billion for Americans families, $500 billion in small business loans and $150 billion for state and local governments, as well as expanded unemployment benefits for laid-off and furloughed workers. What did Pelosi want in the bill? According to Forbes, Pelosi’s bill allocated $600 million to the National Endowment of the Arts and the Humanities. Fiscal Year 2019 budget gave $253 million to the same group. Pelosi tried to double it, in a coronavirus rescue bill.  The Senate bill provided $150 million.

Pelosi also attempted to put $500 million to The Institute of Museum and Library Services. Fiscal Year 2019 budget gave the group $230 million. The Senate bill provided $50 million. Pelosi’s bill also asked that $1.2 billion require airlines to “purchase expensive ‘renewable’ jet fuel. It was $200 million per year in grants (2021-2026) to ‘develop, transport, and store sustainable aviation fuels that would reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.’ The Senate bill eliminated this provision” reported Forbes.

The Senate stripped many projects from Pelosi’s bill and yesterday President Trump tweeted, “Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats delayed the Workers Help/Stimulus Bill by over a week, trying to add real ‘junk’ into the Bill. Got some bad things, having nothing to do with those affected by the Virus, included. Republicans need their votes until we WIN BACK THE HOUSE IN 2020!”
