Texas Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar called out President Biden for not visiting the US-Mexico border himself.
Cueller also mocked the administration for a recent visit from a White House delegation calling it ‘insufficient.’
The nine-term Texas Democrat Congressman told Fox News:
“Any president should come down [and] really spend time with border communities. You know, the president sent a delegation and a bunch of folks from the White House
They didn’t talk to anybody, not even members of Congress down here.”
The election of Biden in November and his message of more lenient immigrant policies have spurred waves of migrants to attempt to cross America’s Southern Border.
More than 110,000 were apprehended by border patrol agents in February.
Thousands of unaccompanied minors are currently being detained in Health and Human Services Department shelters which are now operating 729% overcapacity.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki continues to deny that there is a ‘crisis’ instead, she and the Biden administration are calling the out-of-control situation a ‘challenge’.
Psaki laughably told reporters on Friday:
“I don’t think we need to put new labels on what we have already conveyed is challenging,”
