Tiger Woods rushed into surgery after he suffered serious injuries to both legs following a roll-over single-vehicle car crash Tuesday in California that was so horrific first responders were forced to use the jaws of life to free him from the wreckage.
He was then transported in an ambulance to a local hospital and rushed into surgery. The extent of his injuries is as of now, unknown.
Tiger Woods was the sole occupant in his Genesis GV80 when it crashed at 7:12 a.m.
The golf legend, 45, was pulled from a badly damaged luxury SUV, a Genesis GV80, following the single-vehicle accident in Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles County.
Photos from the scene show the gray vehicle on its side on a hill with its airbags deployed and extensive damage to the front-end.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the accident, which occurred around 7:12 a.m. at Hawthorne Boulevard and Blackhorse Road.
“Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”
Sources told the Los Angeles Times that Woods had to be removed through the car’s windshield.
